Mrs Ethelston's PTFA
Welcome to Mrs Ethelston’s PTFA Page
Who are we and what do we do?
The Mrs Ethelston’s Parent, Teacher, and Friends Association (PTFA) is a busy charity run by a small dedicated team of volunteers, committed to enriching the educational experience for every student at Mrs. Ethelston’s. Throughout the year, we deliver an array of fundraising activities to provide the school with a variety of
resources. In doing so, we aim to foster a thriving, connected community that supports our children’s growth and success!
Last year we raised just over £7000 and were able to support the school in a variety of ways: Enrichment activities included the whole school Christmas Pantomime, the interactive Hinduism experience for KS2 pupils, the immersive Heroes of History Virtual Reality session and the Year 6 leavers party and hoodies! Our funding also
allows the school to buy physical things such as a new sound system and microphones and, on a larger scale, the rejuvenation of the outdoor area by the cabin.
This year we hope to develop the new outdoor space through the addition of shade sail, sensory games and furniture so it can become an outdoor oasis for all children but particularly those of find the hustle and bustle of the playground sometimes overwhelming. We also hope to develop the physical space in the school library, support the school in sports week and are looking forward to the arrival of the pet rabbits!
Vicky White (Chairman)
Mother of two, Vicky has been chair of the PTFA since 2022 and has been making a significant impact on the children in our community for some time now. She runs a successful childminding business and the hugely popular Bluebell Forest School. As well as her dedication to the PTFA, Vicky also volunteers with the 1 st Lym ValleyScouts. Vicky enjoys walking her new puppy and paddle boarding with friends.
Emily Ditchfield (Vice Chairman)
Mother of three boys and friendly dog called Bruno, Emily is an Assistant Play Leader at the Uplyme Preschool. She is also studying for a qualification children’s mental health as she believes it can impact all areas of a child’s life. A Lyme local Emily loves the beach and exploring the coastline with her family.
Cerri Killworth (Secretary)
Also a mother to three boys, Cerri has a background in marketing management and is no stranger to fundraising. Cerri makes no secret of her love planning and herenthusiasm for developing the PTFA is infectious. Cerri enjoys baking, foraging and letting her multi-coloured hair down at gigs.
Anna and Toby Whitehead (Treasurers)
Parents to three daughters, Anna and Toby do a wonderful job of managing all finances for the PTFA. Despite working as a Research Nurse and as an Accounts Manager, they somehow manage to keep track of all the pennies and pounds from the teas and coffees at the Worships to the larger events like the Christmas Fayre.
When the weather’s good they both enjoy running and camping.
